Multiplication Facts Practice

Parents,

Well we are nearing the end of our 3rd grade journey.  We have had some ups and downs, and have encountered a few speed bumps along the way, none of which has slowed us down!.  All in all, I think it's been a great year and I am so pleased with the progress of each student.  I am especially impressed with their writing skills.  I see such a marked improvement from the beginning of the year!  I have saved a few writing samples throughout the year.  I will give these portfolios to the students at the end of the year so you, too, can see their progress in the writing process.  We are finalizing our work in multiplication and will be moving on to long division.  Multiplication is a crucial element to long division so we cannot forget what we have learned so far!  Have them practice, practice, and then practice some more with their multiplication facts!  They have been exposed to our Grammar rules for the year and I am so happy to hear them speaking correctly, and to hear them correct each other when one speaks incorrectly.  We are on our last theme in Reading which is called Smart Solutions.  We will be reading stories and evaluating the solutions presented in each story.  We will discuss problems, come up with the pros and cons of each solution, and then choose the best possible solution that will give the most positive results. We have only a few more Chapters in Religion and I am also pleased with their progress in that subject area. We will be able to complete a few more chapters in both Science and Social Studies.  In Science we will learn more about the earth and weather patterns that affect the earth.  We will explore citizenship and government in Social Studies as well as how and why people first came to this country.  We have a lot left to do and only a short time to accomplish this!  I am hoping the children can stay  and not be on summer break before June 22!  Thanks for all you have done for our class this year.
