Welcome To Music
Our Music Classroom Rules are:
1. Enter quietly.
2. Stay in your space or seat (younger students sit on the rug).
3. Be a good listener
4. Raise your hand and wait to be called on.
5. Move without touching others (keep hands/feet to yourself).
6. Treat the instruments/equipment with care.
Students in grades 6-8 will need the following supplies:
A 1" to 1 1/2" binder
Loose leaf composition paper
Page dividers (3 minimum)
Sharpened pencil or erasable pen
*Binder and pencil/pen MUST be brought to class or Classwork/Participation grade will be dropped 1 letter grade for that day!*
Binder may also be used for Spanish class.
This ongoing lesson encompasses both Music AND Art classes. Learn about synesthesia and how it affects Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas. Continue thru the slide show. How do YOU see Music? Use materials you have at home to create at least 6 drawings/paintings to music on the playlist. Listen/draw to 2 pieces each week until May 15 when we get back to school. Share your piece with Ms. Ayala or Mrs. Healy via school e-mail and even follow the directions to share on the Teach Rock Face Book page, Twitter etc. Be sure to note the name of the musical composition at the bottom of each drawing or the back. Have fun!
In addition to singing along to "It's Cool in the Furnace" on Mrs. Healy's web page, work on this next lesson during your music and art time each week. Share your creations with your friends and teacher and bring them to school on May 15.
