St. Joseph Regional Elementary School is having a Shoe Collection Shoe donations support micro-enterprises in developing nations and reduce what goes into landfills! St. Joseph Regional Elementary is conducting a shoe drive in conjunction with our May 5 th Walk-A-Thon to help raise funds for our school. We will earn funds based on the total weight of the shoes collected as Funds2Orgs will purchase all of the donated footwear. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used or new shoes and bringing them to the school. There will be a collection box located in the school lobby beginning April 24th through May 26th .
All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of microenterprise partners in developing nations. Funds2Orgs helps impoverished people start, maintain and grow businesses in countries such as Haiti, Honduras and other nations in Central America and Africa. Proceeds from the shoe sales are used to feed, clothe and house their families.
By donating gently worn, used and new shoes to St. Joseph Regional Elementary, the shoes will be given a second chance and make a difference in people’s lives.
The shoes you donate must be in good condition, meaning that the soles are intact, they have laces (if necessary), there are no holes, they are dry and clean, and they still have life in them. If you wouldn’t wear them, let your children wear them or give them to your best friend, then they are not worthy to submit with your donation. Search your closets…ask relatives, friends, neighbors…our goal is 2500 lbs of shoes!
